About the Timeline

The LGBT Timeline project is the first effort to archive and organize the most important political events in the history of LGBT rights in the Latin America and the Caribbean.  It is designed to be a digital resource for scholarship in the area of comparative politics and LGBT rights issues. The timeline captures and makes openly available standardized event data about LGBT activism.  Events date back to the 19th century.
